GREEN Forum–Western Visayas (GF-WV) was organized in 1989 as a result of Green Forum Philippines’ regional consultations on sustainable development. It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1992 as a coalition of NGOs, POs and Church-related Institutions. GF-WV currently has 49 organizational and individual members with four provincial CSO network partners.

The mandate and thrusts of GF-WV are:

• To advocate for and support environmental concerns, particularly in Western Visayas
• To serve as a center for information exchange on sustainable development
• To establish linkages among NGOs, POs, Church-based / related organizations and concerned individuals at the local, national and international levels
• To provide access for assistance to members
• To promote alternatives in furtherance of sustainable development
