THE electoral watchdog group Kontra Daya held a small rally on Monday in front of the Commission on Elections office in Manila to express its concern over the preparation for the May elections.

It warned of a probable failure of elections or fraud caused by ballot shortage, padded voter lists, questionable party-list groups and inadequate voter education.

Kontra Daya also urged the Comelec to hold another round of mock elections but was informed by Comelec Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal that “everyone is so busy with the preparations.”

The commissioner also siad the Comelec will be printing ballots even during Lent to complete the 50 million ballots.

Larrazabal had no definite response to Kontra Daya’s concerns on double registrants.
