MBC members still prefer Aquino, Roxas
MAJORITY of members of the Makati Business Club still prefer Senators Benigno Aquino III and Manuel Roxas II over the other candidates as the country’s next president and vice president.
The MBC’s April survey, a followup to the first conducted in December, showed 65 percent of members favoring Aquino, four points up from the December survey. Roxas, on the other hand, scored 79 percent in the latest survey, a one-point increase from the first poll.
The survey also showed administration presidental candidate Gilbert Teodoro in second place (14 percent) and Nacionalista Party standard bearer Manuel Villar in third (9 percent). Former Metro Manila Development Authority Bayani Fernando ranked second among the vice presidential candidates, while Loren Legarda got a dismal 3 percent.
Around 15 percent of MBC’s membership participated in the mailed survey conducted from April 5 to 21 after the association organized a presidential candidates’ series. Eighty-three percent of the respondents are Filipinos, while the rest are foreign nationals. About a tenth failed to indicate their nationality.
