THE Commission on Elections’ negotiations with Dominion Voting Systems for the release of the source code for the automated machines to be used in the coming elections have gained little headway, but Chairman Sixto Brillantes is still hoping for a definitive outcome from the talks so the poll body can get past this last remaining hurdle.
The May 13 mid-term elections will proceed whether or not the Comelec gets the source code for precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines because it already has the binary code, he said.
“Kaya lang, para mawala yung credibility and admissibility issues, mas maganda sana kung nandiyan para hindi pwedeng kwestiyunin ng mga iba na hindi namin nakita e (However, it’s better if we have the source code to remove the issues on credibility and admissibility),” Brillantes said.
