THE University of the Philippines marked the last day of classes for 2010 with its Lantern Parade, an annual ritual marking the end of the year for the country’s premier state university.

UP’s various colleges and organizations took part in the event by creating huge, colorful lanterns depicting their issues and advocacies.

As part of a class project, students of broadcast journalism teacher and VERA Files trustee Luz Rimban covered the various Christmas activities in the run-up to the Lantern Parade, including the annual Oblation Run and the musical program mounted by the UP faculty, entitled Hagikhikan.

Below is their report.
