A Facebook reel claiming to show footage of Israel and Iran trading strikes is circulating among Filipino netizens. This is false.

The video recycled two old and unrelated clips taken in Lebanon and the United States.

Published on June 14, the eight-second reel included a text and caption that read:

“Israel VS Iran Today 13/06/2025”

Today Iran

A video circulating among Filipino netizens claims to show footage of the airstrike exchange between Israel and Iran. It used unrelated clips from the US and Lebanon.

A reverse search of the video’s frames revealed that the first clip – which showed a massive explosion – was of the deadly Aug. 4, 2020 blast at the Port of Beirut in Lebanon caused by unsafely stored ammonium nitrate. The footage, captured by a jet skier, was mirrored and trimmed in the circulating false video.

The second clip was originally uploaded by a TikTok user on March 3 showing people running from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Texas two days earlier. Panic broke out during the National Cheerleaders Association’s All-Star Championships after a fight knocked down poles, which was initially called in to Dallas police as an active shooting incident.

In the caption, the TikTok user wrote: “View from the Omni (Hotel), this was the 3rd wave of people running out. Sitting in our hotel room, just watching people walk by as one of our athletes questions why people started running down the street in front of the Omni.”

A video posted by FOX 4 News on March 2 showed the same incident from a different angle.

The false reel appeared a day after Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear and military facilities on June 13. In retaliation, Iran fired back ballistic missiles, some of which reportedly hit the city of Tel Aviv.

As of writing, the video, posted by a Filipino FB user, has garnered 3.2 million views, 13,700 reactions, 3,700 shares, and 760 comments.
