At least three Facebook pages are circulating a video with copy-pasted captions and links claiming these will direct people to a registration form for a “free house and lot” package available nationwide. This is fake.
There are no recent reports or official announcements of any such housing program, based on a keyword search on Google. While certain government agencies offer housing schemes, these do not come free.
The fake FB posts were all published by different pages on Jan. 11 with only minimal time intervals. The earliest copy of the bogus video that VERA Files tracked had a superimposed text that read: “LIBRENG PABAHAY MAGPALISTA KANA” (Free housing, sign up now).
The video shows two women announcing the supposed free housing package and urging the public to follow, share and provide their locations to qualify.
All three posts’ identical captions stated:

These links lure people into clicking to an e-commerce page that sells portable power station solar generators.
This is a typical tactic to boost following and engagement on social media. Hive Moderation, an AI detection tool, flagged the clip as likely AI-generated.
Government housing programs
The fake FB posts surfaced a day after Henry Yap, Senior Undersecretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said at a Jan. 12 press briefing that the agency had expanded the coverage of the government’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
There is no nationwide free housing program run by the National Housing Authority, an agency under the DHSUD responsible for providing homes for low-income families.
The DHSUD is the country’s central housing authority that oversees and monitors the implementation of the 4PH program, which initially aimed to build one million units annually until 2028 to address the country’s 6.5 million housing backlog.
Yap said the DHSUD recalibrated its target to 1.133 million housing units until the end of Marcos’ term in 2028, noting that more than 400,000 units had been delivered as of end-2025.
Starting mid-2025, Yap announced that 4PH beneficiaries have been provided housing options, including vertical housing, horizontal house-and-lot units, or lot only.
In December 2025, the price ceiling for the 4PH program’s socialized housing units, including house and lot packages and condominiums, were updated based on an agreement by the DHSUD and the Department of Economy, Planning and Development.
