SEN. Manuel “Mar” Roxas II took the top spot in the people’s three best leaders who should become vice president next year, according to the latest Social Weather Stations survey.
Forty percent of the 1,800 adults polled from Sept. 18 to 21 named Roxas, 23 percent chose Vice President Noli de Castro, and another 23 percent picked Sen. Loren Legarda.
No list of names was provided the respondents.
The three were followed by Sen. Francis Escudero (13 percent), Sen. Manuel Villar Jr. (4 percent), Sen. Francis Pangilinan (3 percent), Sen. Benigno Aquino III (2 percent), Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay (2 percent), and Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno (2 percent).
Mentioned by 1 percent each were Sen. Pia Cayetano, TV show host Willie Revillame, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, former President Joseph Estrada, and Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos.
A tenth could not give an answer, and 7 percent had no one to recommend.
The survey had a sampling error margin of ±2.3 percent.
