PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal Arroyo has ordered a state of martial law in Maguindanao province, which could pave the way for the swift arrests of other suspects who have been linked to the November 23 massacre which killed 57 innocent civilians, according to abs-cbnnews.com.
Government sources, who declined to be named, said martial law will take effect Saturday in Maguindanao.
President Arroyo, who is also commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, reportedly approved the order Thursday night.
