THE relatives of 12 journalists slain in the Nov. 23 Maguindanao massacre on Thursday asked Acting Acting Justice Secretary Alberto Agra vacate his 16 April 2010 resolution clearing two members of the Ampatuan clan of the killings.

The petitioners also asked Agra to give them the opportunity to argue against and refute point by point the petitions for review of suspended Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan and his uncle, Maguindanao Vice Gov. Akmad Ampatuan Sr.

The complainants said Agra handed down the resolution without ever serving them a copy of the Ampatuans’ petitions for review and giving them a hearing on the petitions, in the process depriving them of their constitutional right to due process.

The petitioners are Zenaida O. Duhay, Juliet Palor Evardo, Ma. Cipriana Gatchalian, Glenna G. Legarta, Arlyn D. Lupogan, Mary Jean M. Merisco, Catherine Nuñez, Noemi E. Parcon, Myrna P. Reblando, Ramonita S. Salaysay, Editha  Mirandilla Tiamzon and  Erlyn Idalo Umpad.
