ONE person was killed as six supporters of mayoral candidate Gil Bandoja were ambushed reportedly by members of the local Philippine National Police in Tibiao town in  Antique at  3 a.m Sunday.

One survivor said their cars were blocked by PNP patrol cars, forcing them to slow down before they were fired upon.

Five others were wounded in the ambush and were brought to the Antique Provincial Hospital.

Bandoja, one of the four mayoral candidates for mayor, is a member of the Antique grand alliance led by incumbent Gov. Salvacion Perez.

The PNP has no official report yet on the incident. Tibiao is 80 kilomters from San Jose de Buenavista, the capital town of Antique.
