MANILA, Philippines – Pound for pound king and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao deleted his Twitter account after several weeks of nasty tweets from his followers.

Close to 30,000 of Pacquiao’s followers no could no longer access @CongMP, the boxer’s official Twitter page, on Tuesday afternoon, just hours after he tweeted his “No” vote against the impeachment of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez.

“I vote NO! And I can give my explanation thanks,” Pacquiao tweeted early Tuesday.

Prior to that, Pacquiao had been replying to tweets from his followers who kept berating him for not being present during Monday’s impeachment voting.

When blogger Noemi Dado, who uses the username @momblogger, asked Pacquiao: “Why are you not at the plenary?”

The lawmaker replied: “@momblogger e di mag reklamo ka doon sa lolo mo hahahaha thanks. ”

Dado found support from fellow twitterers who demanded a serious reply from Pacquaio. Others were not as calm and collected, however.

Twitterer @RAndRat told Pacquiao: “to h*ll with @congmp. Why the f**k did you run for congress when you know you’d barely be present?”

Pacquiao replied: “e di mag reklamo ka sa lolo mong panot hahahaha”

But after several more tirades on the Internet, Pacquiao finally raised the white flag and deleted his account. Pacquiao created his twitter account last Feb 23.
