MOST Filipinos think the Maguindanao massacre trial is moving slowly, but they also believe there will be justice in the end, according to Pulse Asia’s October survey.
The survey, conducted on Oct. 20 to 29, also found that practically all Filipinos are aware of the massacre that took place exactly a year ago, but less than half are following developments in the trial.
According to Pulse Asia, 83 percent of the respondents view the ongoing trial as moving slowly or very slowly.
Despite this, 80 percent say that those who are guilty will be punished in the end and justice will be served.
Nine in 10 Filipinos (94 percent) know about the massacre that took the lives of 58 individuals, including 32 journalists and media workers. But only a small majority of those aware of the massacre (48 percent) keep track of the trial.
