THREE athletes appear on each end of the court blindfolded, assuming a crouched position in front of the goal. The referee then shouts, “Quiet please!”, the signal for the athletes to listen out for the sound of the bells tinkling inside the ball.

PWDs taste sweet victory in 2012 Palarong Pambansa

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—It was sweet victory for athletes who competed in the annual Palarong Pambansa special games. For the 320 or so persons with disabilities (PWDs), taking part in the Palaro meant being able to show the world that PWD athletes could be as competitive as anyone else.
