After being silent on any anti-corruption promise in his 2023 State of the Nation Address, President Bongbong Marcos. finally acted on the issue of corruption and good governance in his last year’s SONA. He ordered a ban on all Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators.
Outside, not so far from Batasang Pambansa, where the president delivered his third SONA, protestors braved the rain Monday to deliver their version of the state of the nation.Most prominent were placards shouting their demand for higher wages.
When the president enumerates his legislative agenda in today’s SONA, he should also report on how laws passed since 2022 are being carried out, if they are implemented at all.
