Jimenez said the Comelec is still investigating the problem with the VCM.
The Commission on Elections’ Precinct Finder application is now ready to use after they have addressed glitches reported by voters who tried to use it the past two days, . Comelec spokesman James Jimenez said Friday night.
Jimenez posted on Twitter May 10, 7 p.m. that the app was already fully operational.
The site (https://www.gov.ph/web/precinctfinder) is meant to help people look for where they are supposed to vote on May 13. However, some netizens reported wrong information in their records.
On May 9, PTV-4 broadcaster Jules Guiang posted on Facebook the site tagged him as “deactivated.”
Manila Bulletin Technology Editor Art Samaniego Jr. also encountered the same problem on Facebook on May 10, saying that even though the website was already live, his friends were still considered “deactivated.”
In a May 10 Facebook post, COMELEC Spokesperson James Jimenez explained that the site was still being tested.“The COMELEC regrets this misunderstanding deeply and requests that the public await the formal announcement of the precinct finder going live,” he said.
