Pres. Duterte was in Hong Kong Saturday, Oriental Daily News, a Hong Kong newspaper reported.
The report said Duterte was at the World Trade Center in Causeway Bay at about 8 p.m. with companion Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña, daughter Veronica “Kitty”, and former aide Christopher “Bong” Go.
In the photo and video, Duterte was surrounded by Filipino and Hong Kong security.
The report said after they left the WTC, they took a car towards Wan Chai district.
Another photo of Duterte in Uniqlo at 6 p.m. was posted in Facebook by a certain Henry Chai, a district councilor, and carried by an online publication, HK01
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo confirmed the President’s trip to Hongkong. He said it was upon the request of his daughter, Kitty, to celebrate Honeylet’s 49th birthday.
Duterte was also in Hong Kong last Oct 6, days after he underwent a medical check-up at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City.
In both visits, Malacañang did not mention them in his official schedule. In the October 2018 HK trip, Go released the photos of Duterte in Hongkong after VERA Files came out with photos of Duterte wearing face mask in Uniqlo, Causeway Bay taken by a Filipino HK resident.
