A YouTube video suggesting that Palace Press Officer Claire Castro was fired from her post is not true. The misleading video was published after an old video where she is seen throwing a fit in a police station resurfaced recently.

Uploaded on Feb. 27, the 28-minute video featured a thumbnail with the following clickbait text:

SIBAK SI ATTY.CLAIRE? NAHULI SA BITAG NI VPSARA FPRRD SA KORTE? NAHULI SA LEAK VIDEO SI PCO CLAIRE CASTRO (Atty. Claire was axed? Caught in the bait of VP Sara and FPRRD in court? PCO Claire Castro was caught in a leaked video).”

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro remains in her post. Malacañang has not ordered her dismissal.

Malacañang has not dismissed Castro. She remains as press officer and undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Office. She just appeared in a press briefing on March 12.

Castro, a lawyer known for hosting the legal advice program “Usapang De Campanilla” on ABS-CBN’s DZMM Teleradyo, was appointed to her concurrent posts on Feb. 24.

The misleading video emerged after a 2015 clip of Castro raising her voice at police officers had resurfaced in February. Castro explained that her action was triggered when police ordered her to be detained, after she questioned why her client at the time was being arrested without a warrant.

Uploaded by YouTube channel PINAS NEWS HEADLINES (created July 24, 2017), the video received 52,847 interactions.
