A Facebook (FB) post is claiming that the Philippine Navy is urgently hiring people to fill up 19,000 job vacancies in 2025. This is a fake recruitment announcement.

In a Nov. 13 Facebook post, the Navy’s Personnel Management Center (NPMC) belied the claim:

There is no urgent hiring for 19,000 vacancies in 2025. Rumors of this massive recruitment circulating on social media are false.

“Be cautious of unofficial links, forms, or messages claiming to represent the Navy. These may lead to scams or unauthorized data collection,” the NPMC added.

Hiring All Sites with 19,000 Vacancies

The fake recruitment call appeared two days after the Philippine Navy conducted a drill on retaking an island in the South China Sea.

Three of the shortened website links in the bogus post redirected to a Blogspot page PRC JOB HIRING 2024. This website fools people into submitting their personal information with its fake job application form.

Another link in the spurious FB post redirects to a Google site supposedly showing application forms for government agencies and law enforcement agencies. These bogus hyperlinks also redirect to PRC JOB HIRING 2024.

VERA Files Fact Check debunked another scam claiming to offer jobs in the Philippine Army.

The fake announcement garnered a total of 955 shares, 1,058 comments, and 15,708 shares. Philippine Recruitment Site, the FB page behind the fake announcement, was created on Nov. 6.
