CATBALOGAN City – It was like a game of musical chairs in Samar in Monday’s mid-term elections.

With votes canvassed and winners proclaimed, the same names emerged but in different positions.

In Catbalogan City, first councilor Stephany Uy-Tan of the Liberal Party was declared winner in the mayoralty race. Her father, three-term Mayor Coefredo Uy (LP), won as first city councilor.

In the town of San Jorge in Samar, the wife-husband tandem of Nancy Grey (LP) and Jojo Grey (LP) ran as mayor and vice mayor, respectively. They both got the voters’ approval. Incumbent mayor Nancy Grey has been given another term. Her husband, also a former mayor of San Jorge who lost his vice gubernatorial bid in 2010, is now her vice-mayor.

In Pinabacdao town, the brothers Quintin and Mario Quijano both of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), were declared winners in the election.
