BULDON, Maguindanao— Voters literally chased after ballot boxes in hotly contested towns in Maguindanao on barangay election day, while in others, there was hardly anyone outside the homes.

In at least four barangays in this town, residents went on a wild and frenzied hunt for ballot boxes that went missing, with gunshots fired on election morning in Barangay Cabayuan.

Under Comelec Resolution 9751, if election ballots, forms and other paraphernalia do not arrive before 12 noon on election day, the “election shall be reset to the following day, October 29, 2013, or if it not feasible, on the next day, October 30.”
