A Facebook (FB) page claiming to be a fan page of Robinsons Supermarket is luring Filipinos into a fake giveaway of refrigerators.

Part of a Feb. 16 post by FB page ????????? ??????????? ???? reads:

“Ikinalulugod kong ipaalam sa iyo na nag-donate kami ng 500 refrigerator na hindi namin naibenta dahil sa mga gasgas at maliit na pinsala.,. kaya ang sinumang magsusulat ng ‘Tapos na’ bago ang Pebrero 28 ay ipapadala nang random (We’re happy to inform you that we donated 500 refrigerators we weren’t able to sell because of scratches and minor damages… anyone who types ‘Done’ before 28 will randomly receive [a refrigerator]).”

Robinsons, through its official FB page, has warned against joining raffle promos posted on pages other than their official accounts. Robinsons’ official Facebook page with a verified blue badge asks netizens to check the list of its official social media channels here

“This is a friendly reminder for all our valued customers to refrain from joining raffle promos posted on unofficial pages asking for your personal information,” Robinsons Supermarket’s official Facebook page wrote on Jan. 18.

Several netizens who responded to the instructions of the bogus page posted comments “tapos na” (done). The page replied to these comments, asking netizens to click the blue “Sign up” button on the page that leads to another page.

The Google Site page then congratulates users and asks them to click on the “Register Here” button, which leads to a survey site (takeallsurvey24.top) filled with several advertisements.

????????? ??????????? ????’ fake giveaway got a total of 39.32 million interactions. It appeared three days after Robinsons Supermarket announced a promo for Valentine’s Day.

The impostor FB page – originally named Outdoor Perfection – was created on Feb. 7, 2022. Its administrator is based in Indonesia, according to the FB’s page transparency section.

VERA Files Fact Check has debunked a promo giveaway of cars using a similar modus operandi.
