A Facebook user posted a graphics card in a group account, claiming that unemployed individuals and non-members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program are entitled to a financial assistance of P8,500. This is fake.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development has debunked the post, describing it as misleading.
The photo, which has been circulating this September in the FB group “4P’s & DSWD All Region and Update PayOut 2025-2025,” includes an edited image of Sen. Robinhood Padilla on the side. It also features the logos of the DSWD, Philippine Statistics Authority and Land Bank of the Philippines.
The text on the erroneous card read:
“TULONG PINANSIYAL SA MGA WALANG TRABAHO AT HANAP BUHAY P8,500 MAG PALISTA ONLINE
KAHIT HINDI 4PS KASAMA
MAG MESSAGE SA AMIN NGAYON
(Financial aid for those without work and livelihood, P8,500. Register online.
Non-4Ps included
Message us now)”
Believing the post to be true, several netizens asked in the comments section how to apply and even shared personal information, such as their addresses and mobile numbers.

In a Sept. 17 Facebook post, the official page of DSWD Region 12 said:
“DSWD XII clarifies fake news circulating on Social Media pertaining to livelihood/financial assistance. This information has been identified as potentially false or misleading. Please follow the official Facebook page of the department for correct and complete information.”
A quick check of Padilla’s official page does not show any post about such financial assistance.
VERA Files has previously fact checked a graphic with a similar layout featuring Vice President Sara Duterte (READ: NO P10,000 monthly 4Ps allowance from VP Sara).
