In an email correspondence, the PRC denied any relation to the Facebook page circulating the scam advertisement.

A Facebook (FB) page is circulating a job advertisement allegedly posted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) calling for new graduates to apply for a teaching job in Thailand. This is a scam.

From April 29 to May 27, FB page PRC News and Updates published a series of similar posts about the alleged ad that continues to circulate this week. The following text can be read:

“Calling All College Graduates. Thailand Is Hiring For Teachers. With or without License. Any Course can apply. Willing to start ASAP. No Placement Fee/Free Accomodation with allowance.”

The posts include several links where potential job candidates can supposedly submit their resumes. Clicking on the website with the name “PRC JOB HIRING 2024,” applicants are asked to enter their personal details.

This is a scam. The PRC disowned the circulating fake advertisement.

VERA FILES FACT CHECK - THE FACTS: The Professional Regulation Commission did not post a job advertisement for educators that want to teach in Thailand. The agency said they are not, in any way, related to the Facebook page circulating the scam ad.

In a May 31 email correspondence with VERA Files Fact Check, the PRC Public Information and Media Relation Unit said the FB page that published the posts are in no way related to their agency.

“The said page is posting unverified job applications for professionals abroad,” PRC said.

The regulatory body warned the public from “engaging or transacting with any unauthorized Facebook pages” and stated they only have one official FB page.

The scam posts continue to circulate after the PRC announced the results of the March 2024 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers. More than 100,000 educators passed this year.

The three posts published by FB page PRC News and Updates (created on July 5, 2022) collectively garnered over 8,600 reactions, 8,000 comments and 19,000 shares.
