A video circulating on Facebook claims that an explosion supposedly occurred at the Senate plenary hall while senators were in session. This is fake and was generated using artificial intelligence.
On Nov. 1, a Facebook page uploaded a 16-second video showing senators at the plenary hall when a blast suddenly occurred near the presiding officer’s rostrum, triggering panic among them. The explosion was shown twice in the clip.
The fake video has a superimposed text that read:
“Nagmeeting yong mga senador at bigla na lang my sumabog sa loob totoo kaya to (The senators were in a meeting when something suddenly exploded inside. Is this true?)”

Visual signs in the clip suggest it may have been generated using AI, such as some figures passing through walls and tables, individuals disappearing or melting together, and the flag remaining undamaged despite the blast.
To further analyze the authenticity of the video, VERA Files tapped the Deepfakes Analysis Unit (DAU), part of the India-based Trusted Information Alliance. The DAU manually examined the clip using its keyframes and ran them through AI-image detection platforms.
Three detection tools — WasItAI, IsItAI, and AIorNot — identified the images as very likely generated by AI. Results from Hive AI’s deepfake image classifier further indicated that the clip was possibly created using WAN, an AI-video generation model.
The DAU Team also analyzed the entire video using the Hive AI Deepfake classifier. It found that the segments from 0:02 to 0:07 and around 0:10, where the explosion appears, have the highest likelihood of being generated or altered using artificial intelligence.
“All th[ese] show that the video track is very likely to be made with the help of AI,” an expert from DAU said.
The fake video surfaced amid ongoing investigations into the questionable flood control projects, in which some members of Congress are implicated.
As of writing, the clip posted by Facebook page Viral Ngayon (created Oct. 14, 2025) has garnered 120,000 views, 1,200 reactions, 210 comments and 309 shares.
