POLL watchdog Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE) said Monday morning conduct of the nationwide barangay elections was generally smooth and peaceful, but was marred by election offenses such as unlawful electioneering, unauthorized entry of candidates in the polling places and disenfranchisement.

Several precincts did not open on time due to the late arrival of ballots and other election paraphernalia, it added in a press statement released at 10 a.m.

Lente said accessibility remains a key issue for senior citizens and persons with disabilities as some precincts have no express lane for them.
