Website dutertenews4network.com’s May 9 post merely recycled a CNN Philippines report, which aired on May 4, and attached a misleading thumbnail that claimed Commission on Elections spokesperson James Jimenez said, “Mukha ba kaming mandaraya (Do we look like cheaters)?”

Jimenez said no such thing in the video report. He was commenting on the statement of the National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) that the May 13 polls may be “vulnerable” to cheating, saying the latter’s claim was “harsh” and “a stretch”.

Namfrel withdrew its accreditation as Comelec’s citizen arm after its request for election data was denied.
