PWDs ‘Move’ in marathon

Not even the threat of rain around the Quezon Memorial Circle and the water puddles from a downpour the night before stopped the 100 or so persons with disabilities (PWDs) from running and racing in wheelchairs at the recently concluded M.O.V.E. Manila Run 2012.

M.O.V.E., which stands for Making Ourselves Vigilant to Exercise, is the annual marathon for both wheelchairs users and non-wheelchair users was organized by the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM).

Held at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, the PWDs joined the 2.2 kilometer and 4.4 kilometer marathon. Some 400 fellow PWDs and friends were also at the event to lend their support and cheer on participants.
