Sabah evacuees first before politics, Tawi-Tawi mayors urged

BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi— With the arrival of evacuees from Sabah less than two months before elections, local chief executives in this province are urging fellow politicians to prioritize the hundreds of displaced individuals to “political aspirations.”

Tandubas Mayor Rahiema A. Salih called on members of the municipal council to formulate a plan on how best to help evacuees from Sandakan, Sabah.

“Let’s set aside politics…panahon ‘to ng damayan sa kapwa (this is a time to help our fellow men), these evacuees need our immediate help,” Salih said.
