A graphic showing former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and Sen. Risa Hontiveros as a tandem for the 2028 elections is making the rounds online. This is not official.
On Nov. 16, a YouTube channel uploaded a video also shared on Facebook (FB) carrying the false headline:
“KIKO/RISA TANDEM KASADO na sa 2028/LENI ROBREDO NILAGLAG!KIKO NATALO daw SIYA DAHIL sa FAKE NEWS!”

The video’s thumbnail featured a campaign graphic supposedly of the Pangilinan-Hontiveros tandem for 2028, among other images. The video itself only talked about supporters using the graphic as well as comments from netizens and vloggers.
FB pages and groups shared the same graphic showing images of the two that were originally used during the 2022 campaign.
The graphic carried texts insinuating they will run for the top two posts in 2028 namely “Hello Pagkain Goodbye Gutom at Healthy Buhay sa Lahat (Hello Food Goodbye Hunger and Healthy Lives for All),” a combination of their 2022 campaign slogans.
This is not official. It was uploaded by a TikTok user expressing personal support for the two and was not released by Pangilinan and Hontiveros’ official camps.
Pangilinan, president of the Liberal Party, and Hontiveros, a member of the Akbayan Party have yet to share their plans for 2028.
The TikTok post’s caption read: “My Beth (sic) for the next Presidential election will be former Senator Kiko Pangilinan for President and for my Vice President is Senator Risa Hontiveros.”
FB pages and groups shared the screenshot of the post, with some cropping out the caption.
Several netizens thought the graphic was official, commenting it is too early for them to campaign and the two have not learned a lesson from the last election, referring to Kiko’s defeat.
The posts came out after Pangilinan and Hontiveros attended the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats General Assembly tackling the effects and impacts of disinformation held in Iloilo City on Nov. 12-13.
The video by the YouTube channel SHOWBIZ CHIKA-DORO (created on May 21, 2019) now has 10,271 views.
FB page Kapitan Solomon 2022’s (May 24, 2018) post of the screenshot without the caption garnered 141 reactions 45 comments and 3 shares. The uncropped version was also reposted by the FB page PBBM News (Feb. 4, 2021 as BBM Pilipinas 2022) and the group The 31 Million Movement (May 15, 2022), collectively garnering 2,474 reactions, 970 comments and 26 shares.
