While Malacanang continued to remain silent, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said he will advise Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra to stop engaging with the International Criminal Court (ICC) after its rejection of the government’s appeal to stop the resumption of the investigation on the Philippines’ war on drugs
ICC Presiding Judge Marc Perrin de Brichambaut: I would like to state that it [appeal] is rejected by the Appeals Chamber by majority and that the impugned decision is therefore confirmed.
Aside from former president Rodrigo Duterte, Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio, and senators Bato de la Rosa and Bong Go were named in a document submitted to the ICC probing the killings related to the drug war during the previous administration and when Duterte was mayor of Davao City.
