The family and colleagues of late veteran journalist Lourdes Simbulan, popularly known as Chit Estella, have finally found justice after a Quezon City court convicted two bus drivers responsible for the violent road crash along Commonwealth Avenue that killed her 13 years ago.
Chit Estella, known for her hard-hitting reportage, her high ethical standards and unimpeachable integrity, was mourned by family, colleagues and friends when she died in a freak vehicular crash. But 10 years later, her voice cannot be stilled with the publication of a children’s book she authored.
Her death was reported as an “accident,” but the tragedy that occurred a decade ago could have been prevented.
This year is no different in her family’s search for justice.
