EVERY year in April, thousands of musicians, dancers, and artisans perform in one of the grandest festivities in the country.

The Aliwan Festival, also called as “The Mother of All Fiestas,” showcases various fiestas celebrated in towns and villages in the country, depicting the reverence of Filipinos for their patron saints.

Last April 16, performers in elaborate costumes and gigantic floats filled the four-kilometer stretch from the Quirino grandstand to the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Manila.

This year’s winner in the streetdancing competition was the group from Iloilo City, performing the Tribu Pan-ay Dinagyang Festival. The artists of Buluan, Maguindanao won the Best Float Design of Biday a Pinangasturian Festival.
