A Facebook (FB) page has been advertising a feminine wash that allegedly cures uterine fibroids. This is fake.

The video, posted on Feb. 21 promoting FloraWell FemHerb feminine wash, carried the caption:

?Nonstop Regla? Huwag Baliwalain, Sis!

(?Nonstop menstruation? Don’t ignore it, sis! If it’s flowing like water from a faucet, it may be a symptom of Uterine Fibroids or Myoma! But don’t panic—there’s a solution!

Turmeric – Helps balance estrogen and counter inflammation Guava Leaf – Contains antioxidants for hormone regulation)

The video repeated the claims in the caption, adding that the mentioned ingredients can improve scent.

Hindi magagamot ng feminine wash ang uterine fibroids o mga myoma. Hindi rehistrado sa Food and Drug Administration ang FloraWell FemHerb feminine wash.

Dr. Carla Espina-Castro, a fellow of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, told VERA Files Fact Check through Messenger that uterine fibroids cannot be treated with feminine wash.

Uterine fibroids, more commonly known as myomas, are benign tumors that grow in the uterus. Though the condition can go undetected, common symptoms include heavy menstrual bleeding and pain in the pelvis, stomach or lower back.

“Treatment depends on the size, location, symptoms and also on the desire for fertility or not,” said Espina-Castro.

FloraWell FemHerb feminine wash is not registered with the FDA. No other search results appear for the product or the brand outside of the FB page promoting it.

FB page Lush Luxe Beauty (created Feb. 3), which posted the video, has garnered over 3,800 reactions, 548 comments and 906,000 views.
