Recent Facebook posts are claiming that former senator Antonio Trillanes IV is endorsing former National Police Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III if he runs for senator in 2028. This is fake.
Published on Dec. 7, the photo on one post carries the following text:
“Trillanes nagpakita ng suporta kay General Torre kung tatakbo itong senador sa 2028 (Trillanes shows support for General Torre if he runs as senator in 2028.)”
The caption on a separate FB post quotes Trillanes as saying:
“Napakaswerte ng Pilipinas na merong General Torre at this time sa PNP kasi meron siyang moral compass. Alam niya yung tamang gawin, alam niya yung duty sa kanyang bansa. May b*lls to back it up.
(The Philippines is very lucky to have General Torre at this time in the PNP because he has a moral compass. He knows the right thing to do, he knows his duty to his country. He has b*lls to back it up.)”
There are no news reports, interviews or posts on the official social media accounts of Trillanes where he endorses the former PNP chief for a possible run in the upper chamber.

Trillanes expressed support for Senator Risa Hontiveros if she runs against Vice President Sara Duterte in the 2028 presidential election.
In a podcast interview streamed on VERA Files on July 29, Trillanes said candidates “with balls” should become the next president to hold the Dutertes accountable for graft and corruption, which include plunder complaints filed by Trillanes since 2024.
