A YouTube video claims that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has invited Vice President Sara Duterte and her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, to visit the United States. It also asserts that Trump has supposedly thrown his support for the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

These claims have no basis. No official or authoritative sources of information from the Trump team nor U.S. government channels have announced that such an invitation was extended to the Dutertes. Neither has there been any mention of support for the OVP.

Uploaded on Nov. 11, the video bore the headline:

MALAKING GOODNEWS ITO PRES TRUMP at mga BANSA KumiL0s nasa OVP? VPSARA FPRRD iimbitahan toVisit USA (This is a big good news! President Trump and other countries acted for the OVP? VP Sara, FPRRD invited to visit USA).”

Its thumbnail carried photos of Trump, Sara and Rodrigo along with a text that read: “CONFIRMED! GOODNEWS! PRES TRUMP AT MGA BANSA KUMILOS NASA OVP? PIRMADO NA! WALA NA! FINISH NA! (President Trump and other countries acted for the OVP? Signed already! No more! It’s over)!”

A graphic card with a text that reads: U.S. President-elect Donald Trump did not invite Vice President Sara Duterte and former president Rodrigo Duterte to visit the United States. No official announcement from Trump’s team or U.S. government channels have mentioned such an invitation being extended to the Dutertes

The baseless claim emerged five days after Rodrigo Duterte congratulated Trump for his election victory over U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.

The clickbait video merely showed photos from British Ambassador Laure Beuafils’ courtesy call on Sara Duterte last Sept. 30, along with commentary from a previously fact-checked vlogger about Trump’s election.

Uploaded by YouTube channels PINAS NEWS INSIDER and TUNAY NA KRITIKO, the baseless video received over 156,655 interactions.
