A viral quote card is claiming that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has described the statements of his estranged sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, as “fake as her surgically enhanced face,” in a supposed reply to the senator’s accusations that he was plotting with certain members of Congress to amend the 1987 Constitution to extend the term of incumbent officials and push for a no-election scenario in 2028. This is fake.
Posted by an FB user on May 26, Marcos was quoted in the graphic as allegedly saying:
“Why would I be surprised by such accusations? Dati nga drugs ngayon naman term extension. Yung mga statements niya (Imee) fake, kasing fake ng mukha niyang retokada. (Before, it was drugs; now, it’s term extension. Her statements are fake, as fake as her surgically enhanced face.)”
The bogus quote card featured a screenshot of the president frowning and appearing to smirk when asked by journalists about a supposed “no-elections” scenario in 2028.
In a video posted on the state-owned TV network’s Facebook page on May 26, Marcos simply shrugged off the allegation and smirked. He did not make the statement attributed to him in the fabricated graphic against the lady senator.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro dismissed the claim, saying that Charter change, term extension or the cancellation of the 2028 elections were never discussed in meetings presided over by Marcos in Malacañang “because there is no plan for such a thing.”

VERA Files previously debunked a quote card carrying the same insulting remark against Imee, then falsely attributed to First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos following the senator’s accusation that the First Family was using illegal drugs.
The fictitious quote emerged after Imee, in a video she presented during a privilege speech on May 25, alleged that the minority senators were part of moves to amend the 1987 Constitution to extend the terms of incumbent elected officials, raise the age requirement to disqualify Vice President Sara Duterte, and cancel the 2028 elections.
Members of the Senate minority bloc condemned the allegations in the video as propaganda and disinformation. Some leaders of the House of Representatives also denied being part or having knowledge of such a conspiracy to tinker with the Constitution at this time.
Published by an FB user, the graphic with the manufactured quote has so far amassed 12,000 reactions — most of which are laugh reactions — 460 comments and 474 shares.
