A Facebook (FB) page posted a video falsely claiming that a massive flood reached the Luvers Eastwood Bridge in Montalban, Rizal.
Uploaded during the onslaught of Typhoon Carina on July 24, the page posted the video showing the bridge engulfed in an overflowing river with the caption:
“Kasalukuyang sitwasyon sa tulay ng Brgy. San Rafael. Manalangin po tayo para sa kaligtasan ng bawat isa. Rumagasa ang tubig dahil sa nakalbong mga kabundukan.

Montalban(Current situation of the bridge in Barangay San Rafael. Let us pray for everyone’s safety. The water came rushing because of deforestation.)”
This is false. The official FB page of neighboring Barangay San Isidro, Montalban posted an advisory debunking the false claim and said the circulating footage was taken when Typhoon Ulysses hit the country in November 2020.
It also showed a photo of the bridge on July 24 and said it remained passable for motorists that day.
VERA Files Fact Check found similar footage of the Luvers Eastwood bridge starting to be reached by water, uploaded in November 2020.
The circulating video was posted when Carina brought heavy rains and floods to several areas in Luzon, including the province of Rizal. As of writing, the false video has garnered 85,000 playbacks, 643 shares, and 263 reactions.
