Several Facebook posts are claiming that every Filipino with a National ID or any valid government ID can receive P5,000 and a sack of rice by registering on a website. This is fake.
From Sept. 29 to Oct. 5, a Facebook page published at least 20 graphics and videos promoting the supposed government subsidy. One video featured a male reporter wearing a shirt bearing the logo of the news outlet “PH NEWS ALERT.”
The video narration said:
“Lahat ng Filipino, kahit hindi ka member ng 4Ps, ay may makukuha na isang sako ng bigas at P5,000. Basta’t may national ID o kahit anong valid ID na mayroon ka. Upang mabigyan ka kaagad, mag-register ka online. Ang registration form ay makikita dito sa post namin at comment section. Lahat ay pipiliin namin basta’t naka-register ka online. Mag-follow ka sa amin at i-share mo ang balitang ito
(All Filipinos, even those who are not recipients of 4Ps, can receive a sack of rice and P5,000, provided you have a national ID or any valid ID. To receive it immediately, register online. You can find the registration form in this post and in the comments section. Every one who registers online will be selected. Follow us and share this news).”
Some posts included a registration link to a blog page that asks users to provide personal information, 4Ps membership status and the type of valid ID they own, if any. The site is a personal page, and not of any government agency.
The Philippine Statistics Authority, which issues the National ID, has previously warned the public against scams using their office and the identification card for programs that provide financial assistance.

Further, the agency stressed that being a National ID holder does not automatically entitle any person to cash benefits or assistance programs.
VERA Files also ran one of the videos posted through the AI detection tool Hive Moderation. The result showed a 99.9% likelihood that the video is AI-generated and 39.4% likelihood that it contains AI-generated speech.

The disinformation surfaced as the government-funded Rice Assistance Subsidy program was set to begin its third rollout across all barangays in Matanao, Davao del Sur, this month.
The posts, published by Pinas News Network 24/7 (created September 22, 2026), have collectively garnered at least 3,988 reactions, 2,846 comments and 6,121 shares, as of writing.
