At least two videos circulating on Facebook claim that Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) ID holders will receive a P25,000 cash aid. This is fake and was created using artificial Intelligence.

A Facebook page posted on Feb. 9 a 16-second video portraying a news report format on this. In the video, a woman can be heard reporting:

“May national ID ka na ba? Bibigyan namin kayo ng 25,000 pesos cash assistance mula sa aming management. Magpalista lang sa link na nasa post namin, i-share ang video ng sampung beses, at dapat naka-follow ka sa page namin. Mag-comment ka din kung taga saan ka. Salamat.”

(Do you have a national ID? We will give you 25,000 pesos cash assistance from our management. Just register on the link in our post, share the video ten times, and follow our page. Also mention where you live. Thank you.)

Several users believed the post and shared their location in the comment section.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has warned the public multiple times that they do not provide such assistance.

The links in the caption, which supposedly lead to a registration page, direct users to e-commerce listings for power banks.

A simple keyword search on Google reveals no reliable news sources reporting such cash assistance.

The resurgence of the “25k assistance” scam, specifically targeting PhilSys ID holders, comes in the wake of a massive wave of DSWD cash assistance fraudulent schemes that have flooded the internet over the past few weeks.
