A video on TikTok is claiming to show the crowd during the Iglesia ni Cristo’s (INC) “rally for peace” in Manila more than a week ago. This is misleading. The video is old.

The TikTok user published the video last Dec. 26, way ahead of the event that took place on Jan. 13. Comments from netizens indicate that many were misled and believed that the video was footage from the rally.

The 28-second video has this caption: “PAMBANSANG RALLY JANUARY 13 2025 IGLESIA NI CRISTO (National rally. January 13, 2025. Iglesia ni Cristo).”

The same line is superimposed throughout the short video’s run which showed a quickened timelapse of a huge crowd.

A video supposedly showing the Iglesia ni Cristo peace rally several days ago is circulating online. A reverse image search revealed it was taken in 2018.

A reverse image search revealed that the video was taken in 2018, during the INC’s charity “walk to fight poverty” along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.

The video continues to circulate more than a week after the INC organized a rally calling for unity and peace. Political analysts say this was done in support of Vice President Sara Duterte amid calls for her impeachment.

The TikTok user’s misleading video has garnered over 41,500 online interactions and 1.4 million views.
