Facebook netizens are circulating an alleged video of President Ferdinand Marcos instructing Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla to prioritize the case against Sen. Rodante Marcoleta. This is fake and was generated using artificial intelligence.
On July 1, an FB page uploaded a 13-second reel showing Marcos and Remulla, in which the president can be heard saying:
“‘Yung sa kaso ng dalawa, pahilawin mo muna. ‘Yung kay Marcoleta muna ang unahin. ‘Yung kay Romualdez, ikaw na ang bahala gumawa ng dahilan. Magpa-press con ka lang
(As for the two cases, let them cool off for now. Prioritize Marcoleta’s case first. Regarding Romualdez’s, it’s up to you to come up with a reason. Just hold a press conference).”
From July 2 to 7, a pro-Duterte Facebook page and two other users reposted the video, overlaying it with footage of Marcoleta and photos of Romualdez and several senators. The caption of one post read:
“Maliwanag ang sabi ni bangag na kay Marcoleta muna ang unahin
(It’s clear that addict said to prioritize Marcoleta’s case first).”
A reverse image search reveals that the video was made using AI. The original video, published by a page that regularly posts AI-generated contents, contains the label “AI Parody.”
The AI disclaimer was cropped out in the circulating videos, misleading viewers into thinking the footage is legitimate.

The clip also exhibits AI artifacts, including the fact that neither Marcos nor Remulla appears to blink throughout the video, as well as Marcos’ unnatural facial expressions and head movements.
Results from detection tool Hive Moderation show a high likelihood that the video and its audio are AI-generated. Other tools, IsItAi and SightEngine, also flagged screenshots from the clip as AI.
The fake video surfaced after Remulla announced on June 29 that the Office of the Ombudsman will file non-bailable plunder charges against Marcoleta over campaign donations he did not include in his statement of assets. On July 6, Marcoleta was arrested after the Sandiganbayan ordered his arrest.
As of writing, the videos published by FB pages Agila ng Pilipinas (created March 5, 2026) and Solid Sarah Duterte Supporters (created May 19, 2023) and two other netizens collectively garnered 990,000 views; 5,822 reactions; 1,174 comments; and 7,060 shares.
