ILOILO CITY – The city’s Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) will hold on Oct. 25 the last of its weekly lectures to make PWDs aware of their right to vote in the midterm 2013 elections, as the last day of registration approaches.

The lectures were scheduled every Thursday in October in selected barangay or villages of the city’s six districts, and came in the heels of the FAN (Fully Abled Nation) Day road show last Sept. 26, 2012.

“Some persons with disabilities here are not aware of their right to vote,” said Blesilda Mabilog, PDAO Iloilo City Team Leader. “They don’t feel the need for direct participation. Others who were not persons with disabilities before but now have disabilities do not realize the benefits of updating and declaring that they are persons with disabilities.”
