It was all because Donald Trump, president of the most powerful country in the world, did the stupid act of bombing Iran and killing its Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei last Feb. 28.

Iran retaliated in many ways and one of them was closing the Hormuz Strait where 20 percent of the world’s oil supply pass resulting in impending oil shortage. Thus, the skyrocketing of oil prices all over the world.

The long-suffering Filipinos are already feeling the additional burden spurred by oil price hike.

President Marcos assured the people that the government is finding ways to ease their suffering. He ordered P5,000 cash aid for approximately 139,000 tricycle drivers in Metro Manila.

How far will the P5,000 go with prices of basic goods also going up? Not long but any amount will help, as shown by the grateful reactions of recipients.

Meanwhile, expect more protest actions.
