A post by website politicalfeeds.info purporting to show government inspectors examining construction equipment for the Metro Manila Subway is misleading.

Published on Feb. 19, the same day Department of Transportation officials flew to Japan to inspect tunnel boring machines for the proposed subway system, the report “Video: THE DUTERTE EFFECT! – Ininspeksyon na ang Tunnel Boring Machines para sa Subway System (Tunnel Boring Machines for Subway System, inspected)!” claimed to show a footage of the event but it actually carried no such video.

The misleading story instead featured a clip from the Youtube channel of INSIDER, a U.S. news website, explaining how subways are built.

Politicalfeeds.info’s story comes six days before the project is scheduled to break ground.

It could have reached over 381,000 people, with traffic to the story largely coming from the pages Pinoy Republic, Duterte – Marcos Tandem, and Pres. Rody Duterte News Global.

The website was created on Sept. 28, 2018.
