Several Facebook posts are spreading an alleged quote from actress and television host Anne Curtis, criticizing comedian and her “It’s Showtime” co-host Vice Ganda for making fun of former President Rodrigo Duterte. The post is fake.
On Aug. 12, several FB pages and users published posts containing the fake post. Mimicking Curtis’ verified FB account, it had the following text:
“Sometimes, yung joke mo Vice hindi na talaga nakakatuwa, di mo talaga ramdam na nakakasakit kana (sic) ng tao, kahit yun man ang role mo mag-control ka naman sa mga biro mo, alam mo ba na iilan din kami na may lihim na galit sayo? Di ka nalang namin pinapatulan dahil lamang sa respito! (sic) Ang hilig mo magpahiya ng tao, di mo nga alam na ang andami na contestant na badtrip sayo!
(Sometimes, Vice, your jokes are really not funny anymore. You do not realize that you are already hurting people. Even if that is your role, control your jokes. Do you know how many of us are secretly angry at you? We just choose not to pick a fight with you out of respect! You really like embarrassing people, you do not even realize that so many contestants hate you!)”
Curtis denied making the statement and disowned the posts in her official X (formerly Twitter) account.

In an Aug. 12 tweet to invite fans to watch their noontime show, Curtis said these posts did not come from her, while poking fun at the ungrammatical writing style of the viral posts.
“And cguro naman by now alam nyo Hindi galing sa akin ung post that’s floating around about my sisterette!!! Konting RESPETO naman po (And maybe, by now, you know that the post that’s floating around about my sisterette did not come from me. A little respect, please),” she said.
The posts with the fake statement emerged after Vice Ganda, a close friend of Curtis, came under fire from Duterte supporters for poking fun at the former president’s 2016 remarks about jet-skiing to the West Philippine Sea. The comedian added that the skiing came with “water-bombing by Chinese vessels” and a “free trip to The Hague,” where Duterte is detained.
FB pages Thata Babaeng Bisaya (created on April 14, 2007), Arreza Brothers (Aug. 1, 2023), LJ TV (Jan. 8, 2025) and at least two other FB users spread the fake post, collectively garnering over 132,000 reactions, 53,700 comments and 9,000 shares.
