A Facebook (FB) page posted a job announcement saying that the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has at least 6,500 vacancies for administrative or office staff. This is a fake advertisement.

At least four FB posts shared on Nov. 26 and Nov. 28-29, carried infographics that read:

“PRC PROFESSIONAL REGULATION COMMISSION

HIRING NATIONWIDE FOR 2025

ADMIN STAFF / OFFICE STAFF

6,500 VACANCIES”

Two other FB posts from the same FB page also claimed to have 11,400 and 11,500 job vacancies, respectively.

All posts promised a monthly salary of P33,700, and claimed that any graduate of a four-year course – with or without a PRC license – may apply.

PRC Cordillera Administrative Region’s (CAR) official FB page warned netizens against the fake announcement.

“This is a FAKE hiring post, which should be avoided by the audiences to refrain from divulging your personal information (sic). Please be vigilant and be a smart netizen,” PRC CAR – Baguio City’s FB page said in a Nov. 29 advisory.

“FB page Government Hiring Updates is NOT in any way, connected to or is duly authorized by PRC,” the commission’s Public Information and Media Relation Unit told VERA Files Fact Check in a Dec. 3 email.

Last June, VERA Files Fact Check debunked a similar modus on another fake PRC advertisement claiming 150,000 vacancies for office staff.

PRC’s vacant job positions are listed on its official website (www.prc.gov.ph). Contrary to the fake claim, applicants must submit their requirements through a specific email address, not through any website.

A graphic card with the text: Facebook posts claiming that the PRC has thousands of job vacancies for admin/office staff positions are all fake. The list of PRC’s job vacancies is available on its official website: (www.prc.gov.ph).

The latest fake job vacancy posts carried a link to a Blogspot website (www.prcboards.com) where netizens could supposedly fill out a job application form and upload a resume and other documents. Some netizens complained that the “Apply” button did not work.

The six fake posts, all uploaded by FB page Government Hiring Updates (created on Oct. 9), garnered a total of 1,039 reactions, 1,403 comments, and 7,590 shares.

These appeared around the same time the PRC said it would release the licensure examination results for nurses and chemical engineers.
