Circulating on Facebook is a graphic of a supposed announcement that the government is stopping the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps with the final payout supposedly in August. This is fake.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development made no such announcement. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said in his 2025 State of the Nation Address that the conditional cash transfer program for poor families will continue.

Posted on July 19 but is continuously being shared, the bogus graphic read:

ANNOUNCEMENT. Pabatid sa lahat ng 4Ps ito ay tatanggalin na ng gobyerno. 4PS TANGGAL NA. Huling payout sa August 2025.”

(Attention to all beneficiaries, the 4Ps will be removed by the government. 4Ps removed. Final payout in August 2025).

The 4Ps conditional cash transfer program is institutionalized under Republic Act 11310. It cannot be abolished without Congress passing another law to repeal it.

The government is not stopping the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said in his State of the Nation Address last month that the conditional cash transfer program will continue.

In his 2025 SONA, Marcos urged lawmakers to amend the 4Ps law to ensure that beneficiaries have improved their living conditions first before exiting the program.

Under the current law, 4Ps beneficiaries are required to exit the program after seven years. The DSWD said the president wants for beneficiaries’ life quality to be assessed first before they leave the program and stop receiving financial assistance.

Households under the 4Ps program receive a P750 health grant and P600 rice subsidy every month. A maximum of three children per family get an education grant for 10 months every year depending on their grade level: P300 for elementary, P500 for junior high school and P700 for senior high school. Pregnant mothers are entitled to a P350 monthly allowance for a year.

This post continues to be shared as Sen. Erwin Tulfo said in his Aug. 3 statement that he will propose replacing the 4Ps with a livelihood capital program for poor families. But no actual measure has been filed yet.
