Several impostor Facebook pages pretending to be that of vehicle dealer Motortrade are circulating posts about a supposed motorcycle giveaway in celebration of its anniversary. This is fake.
A quick scroll through Motortrade’s social media account does not show any active giveaways. The company has also debunked the bogus posts.
First shared on July 20, VERA Files found at least 24 similar posts published over the past seven days by newly created FB pages bearing the name and logo of Motortrade. All posts carry nearly identical captions, differing only in the date, which read:

In a July 24 advisory posted on its official Facebook page, Motortrade warned the public about the proliferation of fake accounts impersonating the company and spreading false information.
“Hindi lahat ng may Motortrade logo ay kami (Not all with Motortrade logo is us),” the company stated. “May mga fake Facebook accounts na nagpapanggap at nagpo-post ng maling impormasyon. Para makasiguro, ito lang ang aming official Facebook page: MOTORTRADE with 1.1M followers and may blue badge check. O bisitahin ang website: www.motortrade.com.ph .
(There are fake Facebook accounts pretending and posting wrong information. To be sure, this is our only official Facebook page: MOTORTRADE with 1.1M followers and with blue badge check. Or visit our website: www.motortrade.com.ph).”
Motortrade also reminded the public to avoid engaging with suspicious social media pages and to report fake accounts immediately to prevent being misled or scammed.
Typical bogus giveaways often involve unusual mechanics, such as asking users to comment multiple times, share the post to other groups, or click on links that redirect to unrelated websites.
