Several posts are claiming that all National ID holders are qualified to receive P2,000 in cash aid under the government’s Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Assistance program. This is false.
Since Aug. 12, at least three Facebook users have been sharing a graphic card with a photo of a woman and the following text:
“LAHAT NG MAY NATIONAL ID AY MAKAKAKUHA RIN NG UPLIFT PROGRAM NI BBM, P2K BAWAT ISA
(Everyone with a National ID will also receive BBM’s Uplift Program benefit, P2,000 each).”
This is not true. Eligible beneficiaries of UPLIFT, an initiative to help households cope with the energy crisis and inflation, are only those who fall under three categories established by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Group 1 consists of recipients of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Walang Gutom Program. Group 2 are the poor and near-poor households identified in the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System, and Group 3 are low-income members of the Social Security System.

Households in the first group will receive a one-time P2,000 aid, while those in the second and third groups will be given P2,000 monthly for six months.
Results from detection tools reveal that the graphic is likely generated by artificial intelligence. VERA Files ran the photo through Hive Moderation, IsItAi, and SightEngine and found a high probability that it is AI-made.
The false graphic surfaced two weeks after DSWD started the nationwide rollout of the UPLIFT cash assistance.
As of writing, the posts published by three FB netizens have so far garnered 1,541 reactions; 1,328 comments; and 690 shares.
